There is no proud history with this team. They have been losers for most of the time. And since the team is head-quarted in VA and most of the employees live in VA, simply move there, rename the the team the Virginia ....... Then build a stadium there and Washington can stick it. Another option would be to move to Oakland. Then the NFL can give an expansion team to the black group that wants a team. They would then suck for the next 20-30 years. And I am no longer watching college or pro sports. I am tired of social warriors who took the fun out of sports.
For anyone who thinks this is a good idea. Consider this. The removing of black iconic images such as Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben and the boycott of films like GWTW and the changing of language and all other removals of black culture in America IS... by definition racism.
Washington Warriors. Lil Danny has had the naming and trademark rights since 2014. Worst owner in the NFL will now get a buttload of merchandise money with unloading all the Redskins merch and everyone buying the new stuff. Win win for that effer. That horseshoe up his arse is truly lucky!

It is NOT hotly contested, the Redskins have been a team since 1932.
The only people saying is debatable are those trying to tear down American institutions.
Keep it Redskins and change mascot to a potato.

Dan should sell the team and the new owner can move the team and name it anything they want.
Here's a suggestion bound to please:
The PC crowd since it recognizes them;
Those who have tended to shorten the current name, so no need to change;
And no racial overtones;
Foreskins!
They should name them the Washington Americans and watch half of the country implode and hopefully take D.C. with it!
Name them after what Washington is full of; The Washington Thieves, or The DC Swamp Things, or The Washington Brown eyes (referring to the brown eye everyone has)
Just as in years before, I'm for naming them the Washington Foreskins.
