Tuesday night showed a good example. Once again a number of resolutions were on the table to amend the Charter. In the grants program after it is given to the county the Council now wants to put restrictions on how it is managed. Councilman Davis saw right through this farce and asked why did we have to try and put restrictions on a program that we have had no problems with. The answer of course was to take more power away from the Executive. However, three council members argued for half an hour trying to justify this decision. It was finally put aside so that our Council attorney could trying to write in worlds to make it fit into their agenda. Here are the BUZZ words that the Council likes to use to justify their hidden agenda. They will always say," This is for greater transparency and accountability for the People". What a load of BS.
These amendment actions are continuously being done and both parties are doing it. "How dare the People Take Power Away From Us. We are the County Council". There are two councilmen who have been really pushing this. Can anyone name them and give the reasons why they are doing this? I can. But what about you, the taxpayers. You voted for a County Executive form of government and the Council is telling you that isn't what "THEY" want. Can you stop this? Sure you can. I know how but are you really interested in this or do you just want to sit on the sidelines watching tv and doing nothing. Wait until your next big tax hike. Bet you'll be interested then.

The Executive form of government started 2006 and the council members were not the same then and now so your comment is baseless just like you are. What yeard did you start working for the county, you should know this?

I bothered to watch the meeting and I agree with what they are doing. It's called checks and balances.
I think it's time to put the question back on the ballot to see if the county citizens want a county executive form of government because it has been a disaster the 3 1/2 terms under a Democrat and a Republican. It just isn't working.
Peoples obsession with Local government and party representation is the very thing that has been tearing down Communist Nations. Local partisan lacks toting the Party line and getting rich doing it and selling out the voting population but they have no higher power to answer to and be held accountable.Regional politics has basically been reduced to social club affiliations and development deals and wheeling and dealing your WARD much like they do in China.
If they want greater accountability and transparency for the people, tell them to start with revisiting their cooperation with their 2 lead S/A’s and have those 2 Individuals truly explain the skeletons in their closet to the people, so they can stop being hypocrites for once. Their new initiative for the prosecution integrity unit, is a great idea but you need the idea to be initiated by individuals with true integrity, not a smoke screen from skeletons in the closet.

Time to vote this now Defunct office of the County Executive OUT! This position was created by some high roller local attorneys living in the most prestigious developments pushing for this office that serves absolutely No purpose! This office is a three million dollar a year expediture that Wicomco County can No longer afford. These high roller attorneys had the bright idea back in 2006 to table and push upon the citizens this useless position which is a complete waste of Tax dollars. I have seen nothing but Partisan Politics involving this office with no forward progress and the current Executive, Bob Culver has no clue on what he is doing! He is just playing the game of get three terms in and have a F**king retirement with health benefits! It is only about him. You can see that the way this office is run it is a Lame duck position that needs to go! I cannot wait until this position can be placed on the table for a vote to save this county not thousands but Millions of dollars a year! Not getting my hard earned taxpayer worth here. Referendun is definitely coming in the future in 2022!!
Get rid of the Wicomico County Executive Office will rid the county of alot of headaches. Especially Bob Culver.

Wicomico County should move to eliminate the County Executive Position from the Wicomico County Charter.

611, you must have missed the A$$ kissing the States Attorneys office did to the county a few months back, to get $ for new positions due to SPD’s issues and due to the dynamic duo (JD+BM) not having the balls to handle it themselves, because they are hypocrites, they know it.
