AMC will require guest to wear masks at it Theaters

AMC reversed course on a controversial policy on Friday, saying it will now require all patrons at its movie theaters to wear face masks in an effort to quell the spread of the coronavirus.

Initially, AMC had decided that masks would be optional, saying the decision not to require masks was made in an effort to avoid politics.

"We did not want to be drawn into a political controversy," Adam Aron, CEO of AMC, told Variety Thursday. "We thought it might be counterproductive if we forced mask wearing on those people who believe strongly that it is not necessary. We think that the vast majority of AMC guests will be wearing masks. When I go to an AMC feature, I will certainly be wearing a mask and leading by example."

Aron's statement caused a stir on social media.

This should be good. People will now go into the theater with their masks on.
When the lights go down and the movie starts some people will immediately remove their masks while others when they start eating popcorn will drop the masks and forget to put them back on. Then some mask narc will see someone without a mask on and notify management expecting them to do something about the situation. This is going to be great.

Well get ready for ticket prices to shoot up because you can't eat a $10 popcorn or drink an $8 soda with a mask on.

There ain't no movie in my future!

So I assume the concession counter will be closed.

AMC needs to implement a concession reward program. If you turn in a person not wearing their mask during the picture you get a free popcorn.

They should have a usher in each theater screen to beat the crap out of those who take off their masks trying to kill other with their germs!

12:17 And you would be first in the snitch line.

I'm sure prices will go up too since everyone thinks raising prices is the way to get back what they lost.

In a business environment, that never works - actually makes it worse.

Buy a cheap (and they are) 65+ inch TV and have movies in your HOME!! Plus your FOOD is better and cheaper than a movie theater. And you can drink spirits too!!!!!

How can I eat my $12.00 popcorn if I have on a mask?

So what the hell are you going to do with the free popcorn 12:17, take it home? You sure can't eat it with a mask on and you can't take the your mask off for fear of being squealed on, by someone like you.

Maybe, just barely maybe, I'll consider being their customer (guests don't pay) when all the actors and extras in the movie are masked and social distancing....and there is a worthwhile plot.

In the meantime, it's movies at home, sans mask. AMC gonna mean All Movietheaters Closed.

Movie theaters are essentially obsolete. They were fading and in deep trouble before the virus and riots hit. Couple that with the a$$holes who do go to movies that talk through the whole movie, text and won’t silence their phones, won’t control their kids, and bring screaming babies with them because they won’t spring for a baby sitter. Oh, and how could I forget, the extreme rip-off concessions and outrageous ticket prices.
All of this equals.....................Sing it Mr. Quint................Farewell and adieu you fair Spanish ladies...............

11:55 - Agreed! With all of Hollywood being “woke” and telling us how we should all live, I have zero desire to support them in any way.
