Same at BJ's yesterday...line ALL the way to back of store, plus turned on a corner too.

Use Sam’s pay and go. You will avoid all the lines at check out. Easy peasy!
All you need to do is download their app and then use ‘scan and go’. Much quicker and easier. Swipe when done and walk out the door after you show the lady at door your scan receipts. No waiting and painless and you know what your spending if you have a budget.
That's why I've stopped shopping that pain in the a$$ place. They're still doing the same crap like covid isn't happening. Just let people go out freely. They have people watching you check out, or check you out, and still check you out the door. What a stupid policy with all this going on. And they only put one old person up there at a time, most of the time. And they have to hit a bunch of buttons on the scanner each time.

Not only do you have to pay them to shop at their store for what amounts to no savings you have to stand in that long line. I don't do scan app. It's a way to employ less people and they don't use the savings to give raises. i have their stock so keep using those apps. Puts more money into stock buy backs so our shares are more valuable. The rich keep getting richer and the poor keep using apps without a thought about what they are doing.
Then you have another problem: The average item seems to cost $10. Fill your cart and you will need to take a second mortgage on your house.

I went out there around 12:30PM today and the outside line was so long that I decided not to even stand in a crazy line in the hot sun! Nothing really that important and now that I see how long the lines were inside I am glad I did not waste my time. Regarding the app....yes, you are able to bypass the line but then you still have to stand in the line to get out the door where the person who scans your items. It does save to not stand in the checkout line though so definitely worth getting the app on your phone.
They watch you because lots of people steal ....

Best thing about Sam's is the scan and go app. Scan your stuff, pay and bypass everybody as you go out the door. Never ever stand in line. Every store needs to do it.
You should be able to pay your bill at the Service Desk up front without having to go through the whole store and then stand in line. That's ridiculous.
When I need Sam”s I use scan /go and skip the lines and head straight for door.
I went to get my flat repaired. Spent an hour sinc the tech couldn’t find my exact tire from my exact car since they coded the wrong year vehicle in. I only buy tires there for twenty years. You get lifetime balance rotations and road hazard as long as you own the tires and up to their serviceability in mileage. Now this person decided to make their own policy and said this servic only lasts five years. Fix it or lawsuit.
It's a shame that people don't think for one moment about the jobs lost with self-checkout, scan & go. I refuse to use one.
i never stand in line to leave any store especially that one! once I paid for an item, i leave. If you think i've stolen something call the police. then you have to make a decision arrest me or get out of my way! since I dont steal you arrest me or hold me against my will and I'll be buying a nice beach house somewhere! people are such sheep!

They are randomly picking and choosing, nothing consistent.
You are sad.Just do some shopping and wait for the line to go down.Then pay your bill.
You signed a contract allowing them to search your cart before leaving when you purchased your membership.
That's why Walmart is voluntary, Sam's is not.
Use the Sams club app. Scan and Go. You do not have to wait in line. You leave immediately.
Slow down Period . 80% of you bloggers are 100% retired ..oh that's right gotta get home to water the potted Plants ! Lol
Go to BJ's in delaware..better selection and a liquor store attached.
It's simple people. Don't go there.
First week into this situation I realized there is a lot that I just don't need. These places were frustrating enough under normal circumstance. Eating out around here was never that big a deal and frankly I have a better peaceful comfortable life at home without having to suffer scared idiots and cry babies bad drivers and people that had no manners before all this.
Yeah it's been no big deal and a welcomed change.

If you want to waste your time in a store standing in line go for it. I use tech as much as I can to save my time. Time is money and my time is extremely valuable. I guess you do not value your time.

If you all used scan and go been using for two years you never have to stand in line--just put the bar codes in your phone for each item, and total give show to person at the exit door she scans and you go. It's charged and no stops.

Hahaha... for reals, some ppl still don't know about this. Costco on the hand needs to mirror this. Plus, curbside PU.

Sam club is crazy all the cashier worker at Sam club need to have some respect for the customers that all in line or open up another line or somebody in the line need to get the manager and report about it is crazy at Sam club
