More than 80,000 Americans died of the flu in the winter of 2017-2018, the highest number in over a decade, federal health officials said last week.
Although 90 percent of those deaths were in people over age 65, the flu also killed 180 young children and teenagers, more than in any other year since the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention began using its current surveillance methods.
The estimates were released at a news conference held by the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases to urge Americans to get vaccinated and to fight the myths that scare off some people — such as the common misconception that flu shots can cause flu.
The high mortality rate was unusual because it was caused by a “normal” — albeit severe — flu season, not by a new pandemic influenza strain.

Let’s see. 80,000 deaths over an entire flu season of 6 months with no lockdowns or social distancing. 100,000 deaths over two and a half months where over half the population of the country were in lockdown. Doesn’t really seem like apples to apples to me.
And there's a vaccine but you didn't have the media covering it 24/7 so those lives didn't matter? Or it wasn't an election year?

In 1968 and 1969 we had a pandemic. It was the Hong Kong Flu. There were between 1 and 4 million deaths worldwide. There was over 100,000 deaths in the US. There was no vaccine for it at that time. No one was wearing masks or social distancing. Also in August of 1969 we had Woodstock and there were 300 to 500 thousand people at Woodstock very crowded and shoulder to shoulder. The biggest difference in that pandemic and our current one is that this has had the media pound fear in your heads 24/7 for three months or more. Back during Woodstock the media did not do this. They had other real news to report. They developed a vaccine for the Hong Kong Flu in about two years and it went away. This covid 19 will also. But they never shut down the country as we shouldn't have. This is all political and unconstitutional. It is a government power grab. Dr. Fauci and Bill Gates are trying to thin out the population and usher in Socialism. The are trying to usher in the New World Order. This was Obama's agenda and the Democrats. That is why they are trying to drag out the lockdown until the election. This was the only way they had to destroy what Trump had accomplished. Booming economy, lowest unemployment rate in 50 years. For three and a half years the Dems have tried to destroy Trump with the Russia Collusion lie and Impeachment BS with no real basis. This was a last ditch effort to blame Trump for this when it came from China and the Democrats.
So how many of those 80,000 were not vaccinated for the flu? Usually about half the deaths from flu, are people who did not get a vaccine.
And that's, your article, is for the entire year. Covaid has killed thousands more in less than 3 months.
Compare apples to apples. You can't do that until this rages on for a year, or next march when the deaths started here.
