A shocking video shows the moment a Mississippi police officer taunts a young man while wrapping his hands around his neck and onlookers desperate try to get him to stop.
In the footage from 4.30pm on Friday, a woman standing nearby is heard pleading with the officer to let go, saying: 'He's not breathing. He's not breathing.'
The Jackson Police Department officer in the clip was placed on administrative leave Monday after the incident circulated on social media. Public information officer Sam Brown said the patrol man's name is Myron Smith, the Jackson Free Press reported.
The video was filmed outside the Beauty Zone and 88 Cent stores on Bailey Road in Jackson.

Im sure you have noticed how disrespectful the citizens of the USA treat our president. Imagine how police are treated. Don’t hand me that crap about this is just a “ked” you’ve seen much younger ones throwing buckets of water on policeman. There’s nothing to see here anyway because the cop is of color. Spare the city, no need to burn it down this time. Disclosure, I am not a cop (wish I were) or related to one. But I can think for myself and appreciate them. The bad ones will be weeded out eventually.
Cops are pushed to the limit every day by blacks ... they’re out of control on our streets and make having a civil society impossible
This is bad folks. The thugs reflect on good citizens, and they pay a price for that. I wish the black community would try a message like that, but they won't. Sad.

Did you ever consider that the "good citizens" that you speak of agree with the thugs?
Yea, I didn't think so.
These people who taunt authority are asking for trouble. They are ignorant and have nothing to lose. I appreciate protesting the deplorable and senseless death of George Floyd but that does not give license to sack, loot, burn. These perpetrators are too stupid to realize this is, in most cases, their community they are destroying; the places they shop at or patronize; they obviously lack cognitive and rational thinking prowess. After all said and done they will ask for reparations. Phhhhttttt!
Police are the enemy of the people.
They are the darlings of the establishment because they raise money from the people by enforcing unconstitutional Statutory Laws.
Imagine if we didn't have LEOs or any first responders.
I don't want to imagine that!
And here goes the media shift from one topic to another. Coronavirus out, Police brutality and race baiting is in.
You have no idea. It’s madness. Yet cops are the bad ones. They get called to deal with a problem, and then get there and have to deal with people acting like animals. And are expected to magically fix the problem
I wish the police would choke the dirt bike riders that terrorize drivers on rt 13 daily
With the total breakdown of respect and appreciation of the police, particularly in some neighborhoods and communities, it truly tests one’s patience and demeanor. Although trained, the police have emotional limits and capabilities that vary from policeman to policeman. They are put in very difficult situations many times, and I do not know how they continue to do their jobs.
You would not be living large without the police. Imagine driving these crazy streets if the were no enforcement on them. Rough as it already is. Imagine being robbed every time you are out and about. Imagine changing that ridiculous statement. Think about it.
WTH ???
Never thought of that even though I realize they dwell on each subject until it’s replaced. Even the only station I watch, has breaking alerts every few seconds. Breaking for something we’ve heard all day and the past week. Yep, FOX
Yep.Black people are the cause of all the problems around here.... they are the only ones committing crimes
Sadly cops can't be cops anymore.
