A group of more than 90 House and Senate Democrats are demanding President Trump’s administration halt all border wall construction at the United States-Mexico border during the Chinese coronavirus crisis.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), along with 24 other Senate Democrats and 66 House Democrats, have sent a letter to the Department of Homeland Security, the Defense Department, and the Department of Justice requesting a halt on border wall construction.
“While our country to combat the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, continuing border wall construction places local communities at unnecessary risk,” the Democrats wrote. “We request that during this crisis, all border wall construction halt immediately.”
The group of Democrats claims that construction workers helping to build the border wall cannot possibly be practicing social distancing measures and that money allocated for the border wall should be reassigned to aid in the coronavirus fight.

The contractors are paid already for current and planned work. If they stop, the money is eaten up without any work being done.
This project is one of national security, which is one of those "in the national interest" things.
Why don't we bring all the warships home and send the crews to their families, too. They're not doing anything but float around, right?😕
To stop work on the border walls allows more people with the virus into our country it is in the country's best interest to speed up the wall and protect US Citizens, you know the ones that really are here ligit that work here and pay taxes and abide by our laws. The virus would not have gotten in this country to the extent it did when all the planes, boats, and vehicles brought those infected and not quarantined here. The Democrats who do not recognize this need to leave this country promptly and tear down their high privacy compounds and live like the rest of us we have a President and it is high time they recognize the fact without him it would be anarchy which is their goal.
If Schumer wants to stop the wall, then I want it built,NOW.
Why does Schumer and these Democrats cancel their pet projects that have nothing to do with National Security? Why is Schumer and the Democrats in session? they are getting paid for doing nothing concerning the business of Congress but complain.
Why should they shutdown? These people are working outside and not really in close proximity of each other. If they take the prescribed precautions as spelled out by one of People Magazine's "Person of the Year" candidate, Dr. Anthony Fauci then there should be no issues. Keep building the wall.
