Broadcaster ITN said Stewart had made “errors of judgment” is his use of social media that breached editorial guidelines.
The controversy was over a Twitter response Stewart sent to a black man in which he quoted a passage from Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure;
Than the soft myrtle: but man, proud man,More
Dressed in a little brief authority,
Most ignorant of what he’s most assured,
His glassy essence, like an angry ape,
Plays such fantastic tricks before high heaven
As make the angels weep; who, with our spleens,
Would all themselves laugh mortal.

snowflake society --- flaky society
It’s angry black people that find references to apes and primates offensive. Why is that?
Do they feel some familiar traits are similar? How is it derogatory?
There is no mention of association.
They themselves assume that.
Freudian guilt perhaps?
They are cognizant of the fact that many live lives of indecency and squalor and accept it as normal when it is a chosen sub par lifestyle.
They themselves are purveyors of the stereotype of animalistic behavior with poor language, personal carriage and lack of self respect.
I think schools need to step up the civilized, courteous and respectful themes that have been lost to tolerance and acceptance of inferior social behavior themes. .
How in the hell do you get being called an ape personally from that quote which compares ALL men to apes! Get over yourself. No one persons complaint should cost anyone a 30 year job unless it is so egregious that it is totally abusive and vulgar!
Just another example that whites are held to higher standards.
We have no choice, and no other remedy, than to continue to meet those high standards.
Northwest Woodsman: These are the same people who think “niggardly” is a pejorative term. Ignorance abounds out there.
