Virginia Democrats’ pledge to pass new state gun laws has sparked a grassroots pro-gun movement expected to draw thousands of activists to a rally this month amid fears the escalating rhetoric could spark violence.
The concern comes in the wake of Democrats taking control of Virginia’s state government last November — and pledging to pass the gun control laws.
That in turn has triggered a grassroots pro-gun movement, with supporters demanding lawmakers pass “second amendment sanctuary” resolutions that promise local governments won’t enforce state gun laws they see as unconstitutional.
None of the laws under consideration have been found unconstitutional, The Guardian reported.
“I really do think we may be on the brink of another war,” one speaker told a crowd of at least 800 people in Pulaski county, the Roanoke Times reported last month.

ANY law that INFRINGES on the 2nd amendment is UNCONSTITUTIONAL. I don't know why so many people get stuck on that. It is written very plainly and is very easy to understand...for most people.
All the more reason for SCOTUS to put this to rest once and for all...Does the second amendment mean what it says, or not? It's a right that our founding fathers gave to the citizens in the Bill of Rights, which are all rights that the government cannot take away. And yet our government, mostly the Democrats, want to take away those rights guaranteed by the constitution to the citizens. It needs to be settled. Do the citizens have rights under the constitution, or not? If the Democrats succeed in taking those rights away (the first 10 amendments), then a country where the citizens have no rights is either socialist, or communist. It makes it clear what the Democrat Party is.
