we found a bible study that meets during the week at night when we are off

We aren't in church to see your "star search" routine. We aren't in church to give "YOU" praise. I GO TO SEE ONE PERSON. ITS NOT YOUR POMPOUS BEHIND. Stop the singing and dancing. Stop the singing of the Lord's prayer. Stop making it about you. It's about GOD. THE CHRISTIANS ARE HERE. If you want them back?? STOP THE COMPETITION WITH GOD. HE'LL WIN REGARDLESS.

Statistically, this may be right. But as another commenter said, the 'churches' are often a turn-off. You can see that many of them are closing as the old members die.
We got weary of the hollywood-style spectacle that so many churches have become. It is more of a feel-good thing in many places... more about drawing a crowd without 'offending' anyone.
There are still many of us who love Jesus and serve Him daily. But our 'worship' is not some Sunday morning pageant.. we worship Him with our lives. By trying our best to obey and serve every day.
We're not too worried about getting an accurate count. God knows who is (and isn't) on His side.

Amen!! The last time I actually entered a church. It looked like a Broadway show. They had a young lady sing "AVA MARIA" beautifully. Then they ALL clapped in the middle of Mass. WTH?? Talk about NO CLASS. That's when I knew my church has been taken over by other people who left their Church to ruin mine. More pretend Christians more worried about what others think of them instead of GOD. The GYPSY Christian.
Christianity isn't just about showing up for church on Sunday morning. Just because you sit in a garage doesn't make you a car.
