Baltimore Police Say Deputy Commissioner Was Robbed At Gun Point in SE Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Baltimore City Police have confirmed Deputy Commissioner Daniel Murphy and a woman were robbed at gun point Friday evening near Patterson Park.

Officials say the couple was approached by four men in a white SUV around 9:00 p.m. in the 2200 block of East Pratt Street while they were walking.

Two African-American males exited the vehicle, brandished a gun, and demanded their property. A purse, wallet, cash and cell phones were taken.

This happening in a tidy, moneyed, residential neighborhood, to a city leader brings the problem into a new light. What to do, Baltimore?

Northwest Woodsman: Black males. Hard to imagine isn’t it? How appropriate that it was a Deputy Commissioner. As I mentioned in another post, control blacks and you control crime. Truth isn’t always pretty especially when reality slaps you in the face. Residing in a place where there are virtually no blacks, highlights the reality of the issue.

Maybe they will show up to the police and community meet and greet session to talk about it...and maybe the commissioner can find these nice young men a job so they won't have to rob people anymore. You know just like Salisbury did.

Charm City, baby!

But it's not until the well off and elite start getting accosted that the city will make a serious, concerted effort to root out the crime.

They need to get Rudy Guliani and one of his police chiefs on consulting gigs.
