Effective January 2019, D.C. banned plastic straws, threatening business owners who dare offer functional plastic products with an $800 fine. This has forced most local businesses to use awful, ineffective paper straws. D.C. is just the latest of numerous cities and localities to pass similarly absurd, paternalistic policies banning plastic straws.
Thankfully, President Trump is standing up for the rights of ALL Americans, and doubling down on the fight that matters — against the nanny state and the tyranny of the paper straw.

Whats the big deal ? We use to suck down REAL milkshakes with paper straws and eat paper wrapped burgers and fries out of bags. Your gonna have a Nanny state when everyone is a big baby obsessed with their personal comforts and conveniences. Just eat and drink the shit and get back to work.
A little "still wet behind the ears" 8 year old boy is the instigator of all this anti-plastic straw nonsense. Come on adults out there, let's actually start thinking these things through before passing legislation
I use plastic and as long as I can get plastic straws, thats what I’ll use!
This is the nanny state issue Trump picks? I'm disappointed. There are plenty to pic from far better than this.
