"Payroll Tsunami": Small Businesses Layoff Workers To Comply With Minimum Wage Law

In what has become just one more example of government intervention going the exact opposite of what socialists intend, minimum wage laws are driving a “payroll tsunami.”

Small businesses are being forced to lay off workers in order to comply with a law demanding an increase in wages.

This isn’t all that surprising. Economists, small business owners, and other analysts have said that the net result of higher wages is a loss of jobs. And small businesses, who don’t have the capital or return that large corporations do, are feeling the proverbial pinch. According to Fox News, several mom-and-pop coffee shops and restaurants, are responding by cutting hours, eliminating jobs or closing down entirely because they can’t keep up with rising wages under the law.

Similar effects were seen after employers were dictated to comply with the Obamacare law. Instead of giving full-time employees health insurance paid for by the company, many workers were simply cut to part-time.

The ACA already brought this on. They already cut everyone's hours to under 30 so they didn't have to provide healthcare.

Just another propaganda piece.

Sad but just what we expected.

Its all a ploy to funnel the money up and squeeze the small guys. Look at the country. Look at the business models. The big get bigger and merge while the small get bought out and squeezed out. Money runs the country. There is more to this than the peasants wanting a raise.

Hard to run from this every democrat controlled state doing it.

Trump wanted to lower business taxes to 15% while Hellary wanted to raise business taxes from 36% to 40% to pay for her immigrants. Trumps theory was that the numbers show 75% of new small upstart business's FAIL! So lets give small business's a break, but congress only dropped it to 20%. The Dems have put their own wrench in the gear box in order to obstruct and individual states and Cities are raising High School jobs to $15.00 dollars an hour as a minimum for all.

Just how much less than 15.00 do people make ? That alone should dissuade migrants. Yeah don't raise it.

There is no such thing as a high school job. Put down the friggin koolaid.
A job is a job. And some people have no choice but to take a service job to support their families, from a huge corporation that pay crap while reaping large profits and taxpayers pick up the rest with welfare.

Wake up.

2:04- McDonald's is a high school job. It's a job that involves little skills. You live referencing Kool Aide! I see your comments referring to it often. Are you Jim Jones?

Go back to sleep.
