San Antonio's City Council voted Thursday to block Chick-fil-A from opening a store at the San Antonio International Airport citing the company’s "legacy of anti-LGBT behavior."
The council voted 6-4 to deny Chick-fil-A from joining the new Food, Beverage and Retail Prime Concession Agreement for the airport, but approved chains like Smoke Shack and Local Coffee.
“With this decision, the City Council reaffirmed the work our city has done to become a champion of equality and inclusion," said Councilman Roberto Trevino, according to News 4 San Antonio. "San Antonio is a city full of compassion, and we do not have room in our public facilities for a business with a legacy of anti-LGBTQ behavior."
“Everyone has a place here, and everyone should feel welcome when they walk through our airport,” he said.

They'll get paid on this lawsuit!! Way to go chick-fil-a glad to see a company with the stones to stand up for right and wrong.
I hope chick filet file a lawsuit against the airport. Let them see how it feels. They got a GAY man running the airport.
Homophobes. Everyone has money - who cares what they do under the sheets. And San Antonio' city is full of scooters and bikes everywhere so how do they know good business right? (i.e., we moan about scooters and bikes around Salisbury and other towns all the time).
Had planned on going to SA at the end of April for vacation. Was planning to purchase our plane tickets next week. Read about this a couple of days ago and changed my mind about going. Fortunately I hadn't bought the plane tickets. I did however have a hotel reservation down at the Riverwalk which I cancelled making sure they knew why.
@6:57 your exactly right what you do in the privacy of your own home is your business. When you dress up like a bunch of cartoon characters and parade around city streets painting crosswalks then you make it my business
The company has never said anything negative about gay people.
Chic Filet can build anywhere they want, and their loyal following will come. They don't need a airport. They can put one on the road to the airport, and make millions. We all remember how the "boycott" went. Best sales day EVER for Chick Filet! The LGBTQ community doesn't have to eat there. They won't be missed. However, Chick Filet will welcome them as customers without any discrimination whatsoever. LGBTQ has no cause of action against Chick Filet. Hard to claim a business has done wrong, by being right.
