County approves application for heroin coordinator post

The fight against drug addiction and opioid crisis gained continued funding for a Worcester County Sheriff’s Office program, as the Worcester County Commissioners on Tuesday approved an application for state financial support for the sheriff’s heroin coordinator.

Kim Reynolds, senior budget accountant for Worcester County, said there’s $50,615 funding for the heroin coordinator position. It’s allocated through the sheriff’s office’s Criminal Enforcement Team to “maintain the coordination of entering all necessary data for drug investigations, drug seizures, drug arrests, heroin and opioid overdoses, and other drug-related investigation activities.”

Reynolds told the commissioners that the sheriff’s office has received grants before through Gov. Larry Hogan’s Office of Crime, Control and Prevention.

The criminal enforcement team was part of a three-month-long investigation of heroin trafficking in 2017 that found that most of heroin flowing into Worcester County” came from the Selbyville area.

This is a disgrace. The disgrace is not the people addicted to heroin, I’m glad they are getting help. The disgrace is that the problems at our border are Effecting us. Don’t think it’s a national crisis? Wicomico County now has to pay for a full time position to deal with heroin. That’s taxpayer money, folks.

Shut down the g-damned border! Declare a national emergency for drugs. Don’t cheapen the phrase “War on Drugs”. Treat it like a real war, with guns, tanks, planes, and bombs. Declare a real war, and kill any prick within 50 miles of our border. If they bring children with them, go person-by-person, and weed out the drugs and kill the drug traffickers. Send the kids back into Mexico

Cut off ALL financial aid to Mexico if they don’t let us do this. If they say anything about their sovereignty, tell them “fine. You are on your own. No money, no work Visas, and no more remittances back to your country”.

Stop being a pussy, Trump, and be the first person to actually treat this like a war on drugs.

I can’t believe we have to pay for a heroin position in Wicomico. This is solvable at the border!
