OCEAN CITY – A subtle change to Ocean City Police Department uniforms is expected to save tens of thousands of dollars.
On Monday, Ocean City Police Lt. Glen McIntyre presented the town’s police commission with a new uniform line that will reduce costs and consolidate biking and patrol apparel.
“When I took over for Todd Wood downstairs I started to really take a look at our uniform line, what we were doing and how we were doing it,” he said. “I found out we were spending an inordinate amount of money with regards to uniforms because we’re carrying multiple lines of uniforms.”

$4500 per officer for uniforms is insane. Clothing prices go up like everything else, but that is ridiculous. No wonder they aren't getting enough for parking money.
Black is a horrible color for police uniforms. Fades quickly and looks like crap. And shows dirt easily. Also, will be extremely hot in the summer!! I’m sure this LT doesn’t care. He’ll be nice and cool In the office
Unlike the sheriff's office who just spent over $30,000 last year for new patrol uniforms. New leadership comes in, doesn't like them, so now nobody matches wearing older uniforms. Oh and wait, they are now going to be spending more money on a digffdiff uniform. Gotta love wasting tax payers money.
Black & blue. How appropriate.
Go for khaki and some other light color for summer. Black is hot.
How about beachy colors and let one of the T-shirt/boogie board vendors handle the purchasing and inventory?
Lol- three shirts for $10
OC has their bus drivers suit up with fluorescent yellow vests while protected and surrounded by 40,000 lbs of steel in a huge bus while the OCPD exits their patrol cars in traffic wearing black. What's wrong with this picture.
The popo is untouchable
