Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan has changed his mind, which means it looks more likely the Redskins will move out of Maryland and back into Washington, D.C. once the lease expires at FedEx Field in 2027.
Hogan telling the team that he is withdrawing his idea to build a new stadium in Oxon Cove Park, which is across the highway from the MGM National Harbor.
“At this time,” according to Hogan’s statement.
Monique Walker represents Oxon Hill on the County Council and is among those pleased that for now, at least this prime waterfront land, is no longer being considered as a possible home for a new Redskins stadium.

why do cities pay for NFL stadiums to start with?.the owners are rich enough to pay for it themselves..why do taxpayers get burdened with this garbage..take it out of the overpaid ingrates players salaries.
2:56 agreed. It's been shown in many studies, most notably one by Stanford, that shows football stadiums do not have a significant impact on local economies. The problem is people get so brainwashed into watching them that they continue to feed the machine. All the pink breast cancer awareness stuff for example is a joke. Not because of the disease or the premise of raising money, but because of just how little money is actually donated to breast cancer from the purchase of NFL goods. It is a business just like any other.
Make the owners and shareholders pay for it. The public is sick and tired of picking up the slack of private businesses under the guise that trickle down economics works.
