Bump Stock Ruling

On December 18, 2018, Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker announced that the Department of Justice has amended the regulations of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), clarifying that bump stocks fall within the definition of “machinegun” under federal law, as such devices allow a shooter of a semiautomatic firearm to initiate a continuous firing cycle with a single pull of the trigger.
The Final Rule

Please note: This is the text of the final rule as signed by the Acting Attorney General, but the official version of the final rule will be as it is published in the Federal Register.

The final rule clarifies that the definition of “machinegun” in the Gun Control Act (GCA) and National Firearms Act (NFA) includes bump-stock-type devices, i.e., devices that allow a semiautomatic firearm to shoot more than one shot with a single pull of the trigger by harnessing the recoil energy of the semiautomatic firearm to which it is affixed so that the trigger resets and continues firing without additional physical manipulation of the trigger by the shooter.

The rule will go into effect 90 days from the date of publication in the Federal Register.

So how does this affect "echo triggers"? They shoot two rounds with on pull of the trigger.

In your first few days of being certified AG, you infringe on the 2A, you lie about the definition on federal documents about the description of the action and manipulation of said device. You rewrite a previous law that existed for ten years that normally takes Congress to do, instantly making law abiding citizens now felons. Then standard cap mags? Then anything semi is an assault weapon?! And even that wont detur crime...so then what?!?!? All while the biggest criminals destroy the country and subvert the Constitution. Yet highest crimes of the nation committed by fbi and doj.....and they just lose their jobs...no perp walks...no prison....just walk away!
WTH are you people doing to our Country?!?!

12:47pm enhanced triggers and any trigger activators are now illegal in md and some other states, dosent look like an appeal will happen, see the MSI site.

The BIG concern I have is that Trump used Executive Powers to arbitrarily ban bump stocks. If that's allowed to stand as Constitutional, then the next Democrat President could use it as legal grounds to just ban any class of firearms via Executive Powers. We could go to bed being legal owners of anything and through not fault of our own, wake up as felons.

Technically they can do this with anything, you dont need a vehicle that goes over 65, that goes to fast, youll just break the law, cause catastrophic damage, ect...you have 30 days to get rid of it/destroy it or 5yrs in prison. What will a progressive liberal do when they get the power back? This is a terrible president to set.
Shall NOT be Infringed.

Dave T: Any law formed that is repugnant to the constitution is null and void. Save this information, it could make a good diaper or toilet paper.
