Salisbury Maryland Folk Festival A Massive Disaster

Many people came on here this morning in comments and said, WHERE'S THE PICTURES ALBERO". Well Ladies & Gentlemen, pictures don't lie. These images were taken early this morning throughout Salisbury, proving the City did not draw outside traffic/money like they claimed. There's no 80,000 to 300,000 people in town.

A viewer just sent me the following message: They have the downtown wifi turned off. Probably 25 people here and 50 volunteers. One person bought food @ 11:27.

They can pump this thing up all they want, the above images absolutely prove, (unfortunately) it was poorly planned and without any doubt there wasn't enough time to properly promote the event. Such a shame for taxpayers.

It was never going to succeed. It's all about the numbers. This crazy talk of 100K showing up? Nope. Not happening. Think about it, the past 3 years, it was hosted in Greensboro NC. In 2017, it was estimated 160K came. Except, nearly 300K call Greensboro home. But, it's part of the Piedmont Triad, a population center of more than 1.6M. So, roughly 10% of the "local" population, more or less attended. Compare that to little ol' Salisbury and the surrounding areas. Salisbury has 30K residents. All of Wicomico has a population of 100K. So, they're already solidly behind. The entirety of the Delmarva Peninsula has a population well under 1M. With a few hundred thousand to spare. It's no surprise that Jake & Co have been undercutting their own expectations.

This isn't a major music festival like Bonaroo or Coachella with headline acts. People don't fly in or road trip to a festival like this. Add in the weather, the never-ending downtown construction, and the fact that the festival is devoid of any artists with name recognition? Big time flop. Just compare the lineups of the folk festival and the upcoming OC Bikefest concert performers. One's a joke, the other is next week in Ocean City.

It's GOD and the people's way of telling the governmental officials, stop putting taxpayers money in your pockets. Put the money back into the pockets of its citizens and their communities. STOP STEALING from your constituents.

Great event, big crowds, try coming out of your basement and go inside the event and walk around!!! DON'T BE SCARED, POLICE WILL PROTECT LITTLE PEOPLE ALSO!

1:23 - Irony - that we need police protection. Thugs rule! Another reason that the Festival is a bust. Maybe if the Mayor and Duncan had focused on crime ahead of this event, it would be more successful. As they saying goes...putting lipstick on a pig ...it's still a PIG.

123-Shouldn't you be chasing chickens, Jake? Or did Daddy promote you?

In Greensboro the hotel parking lots are full of vehicles AND people milling about. They become a gathering place and people are I guess it's best described as tailgating.

AND they signed up what for 2 more years to do this!!!

Where are the "BIG CROWDS".......Someone tell me... I can't find them.
The Salisbury Festival was much.. more largely attended in it's best times in the late 90's when it maxed out at around 32,000 one year. It was Huge compared to this.
People around here are sick of this festival crap. Except those like Day and Dunn that dream it up.

Normally people would lose their job over mis-management. But there certainly nothin NORMAL about Da'Bury! Tinkerbell Day and his minions! The news coverage should be interesting!

I just googled hotels in Salisbury for tonight and 43 hotels in the area popped up for availability including West Ocean City. I thought that 100,000 plus crowd was going to book every hotel in the area?

FAILED

Was there Friday and Saturday, never saw the crowds. Total attendance can't be more than 5000. Mostly local. Tried to see the good bluegrass band at the amphitheatre, even before the rain it was hard to see, no lighting for the band. Very small crowd. Marquis Knox was damn good.
