Nike Loses $3.75 Billion in Market Cap After Colin Kaepernick Named Face of ‘Just Do It’ Ads

Nike just lost about $3.75 billion in market cap after announcing free agent NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick as the new face of its “Just Do It” ad campaign. It’s the 30th anniversary of the iconic TV and print spots.

At the time of this writing, the sneaker company’s intra-day market capitalization was $127.82 billion. On Friday, that number had been $131.57 billion.

Market capitalization is the market value of a publicly traded company’s outstanding shares.

It's difficult to find well-informed people in this particular topic, however, you sound like you know what you're talking about!

Thanks

All I have to say is Kaepernick cannot / does not / has not lived up to this slogan and NIKE is promoting this slogan with this lazy bum. Poor business practice. Their shoes are not worth the price and does not last.

Have been using a variety of their products since the early 1970s when they were just getting started. That just came to a complete and irreversible halt, including stuff for extended family.

Done. Fini.

Their products are over-priced garbage and so is their mascot.

Bad choices make for bad business.

Overpriced products made in third world countries for pennies.

I thought that's the very "injustices" that he was kneeling over?

Both he & Nike are tools of a feather.

The largest producers of Nike shoes are the factories located in China, Vietnam and Indonesia, although dozens of other countries also contain Nike factories; these countries include Malaysia, Pakistan, India and Thailand.

Buy: Made in USA when possible

There are over 75 shoe companies in the USA . Look it up. Screw Nike
