Maryland crab restaurant hits back at PETA's billboard

A Maryland crab restaurant has responded to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals' (PETA) recent “go vegan” billboard by putting up one of its own.

Jimmy’s Famous Seafood in Baltimore, Md., has erected its own billboard, reading: “SteaMEd crabs. Here to stay. Get famous.”

The capitalized “ME” references billboards put up by PETA near several Baltimore seafood restaurants, telling Maryland residents “I’m ME, Not MEAT. See the individual. Go vegan," next to a picture of a blue crab.

If they convince all other animal species to go VEGAN, I will too.

They should start with sharks.

Also, most crabs are eaten by jellyfish and small fish (which eat crabs when they are mere babies) and by birds, seals and raccoons, not by humans.

PETA needs to work on getting those species to go VEGAN.

I love Crabs, but have never liked the
way they are killed for consumption.

A Waterman told me since I wouldn't clean
a live soft crab, put them "alive" in the
freezer , they " go to sleep", when frozen ,
thaw and clean . Sure was a Much Better way
for me to clean then!!

A shame a more humane way can't be
taken for the Hard Crab. I won't cook them ,
but I will sure eat them when someone else does
the cooking.

1:09 PM - Maybe you could work on finding the perfect way to painlessly dispatch them before cooking. Nobel Prizes have been given away for less.
