Coca-Cola is acquiring strong-tasting Moxie, a New England regional tonic long associated with Maine.
The soda giant announced that it is acquiring Moxie from Coca-Cola of Northern New England, of Bedford, New Hampshire, which is an independent company that partners with Coca-Cola.
Moxie is made in Londonderry, New Hampshire. It was patented in 1885 and was the first bottled beverage in America, according to its maker.

Why would Coke buy such a small company? It can't be the competition.
Moxie is a very famous soft drink from years past. It does not surprise me that few people remember it; they are just too young. Remember, everybody's sense of history begins the day they are born.
It's the nastiest tasting soda ever, you need to lick a cats a$$ to get the taste of Moxie out of your mouth
