This video truly represents Crisfield and its residents. Thank you for posting it as I am proudly one of them.
Liberal Annapolis Politicians couldn't help but step in. Crab pickers were paid based on the amount of meat they picked. Government decided that it was unfair to pay fast pickers more money than slow pickers so they insisted they all be paid the same hourly rate. This took the jobs away the locals in favor of Visa workers who work for a lower hourly rate and exempted the employers of having to pay Unemployement or Social Security taxes.
Crisfield has always been a craphole. Too much inbreeding.

Being filmed in 1992 I hope some of the showpiece still remains. I was born in Salisbury and still here, but sorta envious of that lifestyle. The folks are a proud and content people and seem to be happy. What more could you ask for. Enjoyed viewing the film.
