The day we've been waiting for is almost here! Guinness' US brewery and taphouse opens tomorrow, Friday, August 3, in Maryland.
The Guinness Open Gate Brewery & Barrel House, will open its doors tomorrow in Halethorp, Maryland, just outside of Baltimore.
It's the first Guinness brewery in the US in 60 years!
The "mid-sized brewery" and "innovation microbrewery" will focus on brewing beers specifically targeted for the U.S. market, like Guinness Blonde and Guinness IPA which have been launched in recent years. They'll be serving 16 beers on tap, including favorites from Dublin and brand new beers brewed on premises.

Sweeeet!
Guinness is good!
Another Pub, Bar, Beer Joint or what ever the going name is today does not excite a recovering alcohol. Don't understand why you get a tingle running up your leg, over new beer joints, since you do not drink
It's Guinness, you moron, brewed in the same place since 1759. In the UK, doctors prescribe it to patients as a tonic and a food.
And it's not a beer joint, it's a brewery, from which the state of Maryland will make a load of tax money to piss away on Baltimore and Prince George's County.
What's not to like?
Sorry about your alcoholism, but don't paint the rest of us with your brush.
I tried Guinness Blonde for the first time this year. Very pleasantly surprised. Not overly carbonated so you don't burp as much.
My wife, who is not a big Guinness fan, loved it, too. She burped.
Nice to have it open, but let's not forget that the enabling legislation will put the screws to local craftbrew pubs owned by tax paying MD residents in favor of a foreign owned megabrewer.
Don't drink a lot so my pocket is largely unhurt but the legislative rogues didn't need to put their fingers in the eyes of the little guys.
Guinness is supposed to be served at room temp.
Waaaaaaaaaaa
Drink a virgin snowflake Pima colada.
well if you've ever actually been to ireland/UK you would know that the guinness made over here tastes nothing like the guinness from over there!
It's much better over there!
Guinness is liquid bread.
I agree with 7:29
If they use the same quality standards and ingredients as they do in Ireland and the UK, I will buy it. If not, I will still buy the Guinness that is produced in Ireland. I can get this at Cheers and it's around the same price.
Give me a bad headache.
