Spin Retires Bike Share Program

SALISBURY, MD---Spin, which has operated bike share programs at campuses across the country, including Salisbury University, has announced it is retiring the program. As a result, daily support for bike share operations has been halted nationally, and the Spin bike app may cease functionality at any time.

SU is waiting for details regarding bike collection and information on the refunding of extended memberships. (The University reaped no financial benefit from the program, but supported bike sharing as part of its sustainability efforts and as a service to campus users.) The Sustainability Office and City of Salisbury are exploring other options which might provide alternatives to bike ownership, as Spin had.

A stolen scooter will bring far more money than a stolen bike.

Salisbury University has a Sustainability Office? What the hell is that? How much does the Director of Sustainability get paid? If it's more than $10/week it's too much.

I knew someone would say something like this when I wrote what I did. lol. Geesh, everything has to be Mission Impossible-ish for some of you.

While what you say might be true, if a tracker was used that is in a YouTube video, someone can find the tracker to disable it, there is only one tracker being used, and a whole host of other possibilities.

Whatever the case, I'm sure whoever owns these scooters has the means, the experience, the intelligence, yada yada yada, to protect their assets and to recover same.

If we were talking about a smallsbury company or other local enterprises you might have a solid case. I'm sure whatever scenario anyone could bring up you could find some super-spy-worthy technique to defeat it. lol.

But for the run-of-the-mill criminal element in these parts, I doubt such drastic measures would be necessary. But please, continue on. You are entertaining for a change.

Just how much training do you think anyone needs to ride a bicycle with a motor attached to it? lol

A lot of the orange bikes are in front of the bike shop on Rt 13 South. They have been abandoned all over the city, and are never removed, they are another blight on the city. Something else for the Festival Fools to see, because if they come to this event which WBOC keeps plugging they will be real Fake Jake fools.

A hugely popular and successful business.
That is why they are stopping it.

Matt Drew, sucking up to Jake Day Tweets that this POS bike program is a success based on a Salisbury Independent article. That's like using SNOPES to do your fact-checking. Matt Drew you are a loser just like your boi Gay Day is.

Not at all. This people who own this company have no skin in the game as they are funded entirely by government grants. If the program is successful they make money. If all the scooters get stolen they have no loss but the taxpayers do!

speaking of SU, why did Jackie Welfonder get fired? That one has been a hush hush.
