Well Jake when elected said he was going to make that change over there and we see that still has not happened. She wont leave....She has it way to good and why leave when the Mayor supports all the bad things happening to the community and department itself. What does the police chief have to do with seven rapes and two murders, other than investigating them after they occurred? Do you think that she or anybody else has a crystal ball that will tell them when and where the next one will occur?
To be accurate, the murders are investigated by the state police, not city or county cops, so they're out of SPD's hands.
Do we need to be reminded that just before the current chief was hired, there was a year when there were 6 murders, and twice as many rapes.

There is no such thing as a simple assault as opposed to an aggravated assault. Any time someone is assaulted in any form it is AGGRAVATED!! Do I make myself clear JAKE DAY!!

Really 11:57. How about taking a look also at the turnover rate of officers fleeing the department to get away from her and her two followers. You don't think that extremely low morale within the department and the mass exiting doesn't have some type of cause and effect on the overall crime rate? She is and has been a pathetic leader which has caused turnover and lack of any officer wanting to go above and beyond other then just plain handling their calls for service. You know it, and a lot of people know it. She is the main problem internally with SPD and that has the rippling effect to crime. I'm sure you voted for Jake Day and will again... Watch and see this city being destroyed is heartbreaking.....

Look up the definition of assault and aggravated assault. You need to get your facts together before spewing BS..
Resided there in the 50s and 60s and don’t recall any, I repeat, ANY criminal behavior of the sort reflected in this article. Let’s see, back then the entire country was 90% white. That may have something to do with it. You are at approximately 36% now so you reached the tipping point a long time ago. You will have to live with it or escape to a location with a better demographic distribution. NW Islander
