People driving under the influence in urban areas that cannot control their vehicle deserve to to be stopped, questioned and if impaired detained. There are areas in each county that are very rural and it is unlikely, that a person while over the the legal limit, would see another vehicle on the road after 11pm. The only danger they pose is to themselves if they drive on the backroads and they go faster than 20mph. There is a difference between driving on 50 or 13 or Beaglin Park and driving on Athol Rd. or Muddy Hole Rd. The LEO in this area has the sole task of finding a reason to pull a vehicle over and use that as an opportunity to develop probable cause to search the vehicle or have a K9 provide cause to search.

The one that concerns me is the turd with a keyboard phone punching away or distracted by his conversation. The drunk for the most part tries to keep their eyes on the road, although sometimes ending tragically.

They could have tripled their arrests by just sitting down the road from the bar.
