Wondering if many of your readers travel thru this part of Salisbury on a regular basis?
I travel to Salisbury on a weekly basis to attend meetings, my observation is the road conditions are horrible at best.
Realizing that the is a considerable amount of commercial truck traffic, the roads are full of potholes; one has to stop completely upon crossing the railroad tracks on Marvel Road due to the detonating condition of the crossing
I would assume those commercial/industrial occupants pay Salisbury city taxes, what are they getting for their property tax dollars?
Certainly no folk festival or bike trails in the industrial park area.

roads at railroad tracks are under the railroad company. very difficult to get anyone to fix them
It's probably the worst road in town now that West Isabella got paved, but heck, Janette doesn't care about Salisbury businesses, inly their tax money. He needs it to spend on his 3 day Fart Festival, not infrastructure!
I agree, I can't even drink a cup of coffee while driving down Northwood Dr or it will end up in my lap. I think the same thing as you as I am driving down it daily, why are these businesses allowing the city to get away with the neglect? Surprised the Daily Times with its "pull" didn't even get the road fixed while they were there, something must be going on.
Does that road have contaminated soil under it as well?
There's not much industry going on there.
I think the Webcraft building is still empty after all these years. I know how low the owner was willing to go on a multi-year lease. It was laughable and sad all at the same time.
Tell Fake Jake he will get right on it, they don't care about roads and all the things we need it's all about the Festival and selfies.
If they didn't spend 100+ million $ on the wwtp, maybe there is some money left over to fix these $hit roads!!
I always like to take 13 business but my husband always wants to take the bypass because of the appalling road conditions along Rt13 in Salisbury. He always wins because I don't feel like hearing him complain about the potholes and how they will mess up our car.
How could the roads be in such bad shape? The industrial park is 75% vacant. No one in their right mind wants to move to Salisbury because of the tax rates and a non functioning government. I know an individual who owns property on the edge of the park. When he purchased it, it was in the county. The city decided to annex the area that he owns property in. But since it wasn't hooked to city sewer or water no one wants to buy it. The property now isn't worth a dime. It's value is lower than what the city told him he needs to do to upgrade. So he has stopped paying taxes on the place. He's trying to force the city to seize it. They keep threatening to sue him. He's told them over and over I don't want it any more.....you can have it. I'll take the loss as a write off. The city knows the property isn't worth anything now because of their own stupidity. So now the property is left to decay. Smooth move Burymorons.
Its not because of traffic, its because of neglect...those roads have been like that for 30 years, seriously.
Boy Mayor - care to comment? Please opine as to why this continues since your constituents WANT to know!
No accountability around here just tax and spend wastefully.
Good Question, "What are they getting
for their Tax Dollars?"
Not much for sure!
The West Main Street to Fitzwater Street to Parsons Road corridor is also in horrible condition.
I agree with 10:32, Fitzwater, West Main and Parsons Rd are so bad you lose car parts every time you go there. Also the flooding on Fitzwater St has always been as bad. Flaky Jake needs to get on the band wagon and promote
more money for the roads instead of looking like Bucky Beaver in his selfies.
Send the Festival goers thru there to visit Pemberton Park, what a dumb a$$.
Check out the intersection of Old 50 and Hobbs road Perdue truck have not busted it up but just wore is out.
