The Photo That Never Saw The Light of Day: Obama With Farrakhan In 2005

A journalist announced last week that he will publish a photograph of then-Illinois Sen. Barack Obama (D) and Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan that he took in 2005 at a Congressional Black Caucus meeting, but did not make public because he believed it would have “made a difference” to Obama’s political future.

The photographer, Askia Muhammad, told the Trice Edney News Wire that he “gave the picture up at the time and basically swore secrecy.”

“But after the nomination was secured and all the way up until the inauguration; then for eight years after he was President, it was kept under cover,” Muhammad said.

Asked whether he thought the photo’s release would have affected Obama’s presidential campaign, Muhammad said, “I insist. It absolutely would have made a difference.”

Reached by TPM on Thursday, Muhammad said a “staff member” for the CBC contacted him “sort of in a panic” after he took the photo at a caucus meeting in 2005.

There's a lot today that we have learned about Obama his relationship with Al Sharpton, the preacher Obamas family attended his church when running for election and now this. I voted for him twice and now can say it was a big mistake. Look at the way he has stood up for children apprehended and shot because of their actions, they were troubling teens if you read their whole stories not just the way Black Lives Matter has tried to deflect the backgrounds and incidents leading up to shootings with the police.

Barry's grandmother and mother were both CIA
He truly was a Manchurian Candidate!

Wow! No posts about Trump's trip and getting boo'ed. Wife #3 not traveling with him and has been spending nights at a DC hotel not the whitehouse.

3:49 must be a slow learner. You know darn well your friends warned you against the first vote and you repeated it. WOW

Farrakhan HATES white people. Makes no bones about it and has called for the death of all white people.
To be in the same room with such a vile character? It could happen.
To be smiling and hanging out together?
Wouldn't that be a lot worse than having someone SAY a bad guy said he liked you (as in David Duke and his endorsements --- NOT appearances and handshaking, but SAYING he liked you)?
Double standard, fake, lying liberal BS.
They KNEW what obama was (and is) and deliberately hid the fact.
Did they get Russian help?

Keep cheering.

I voted for Obama the first time because he seemed educated, fair minded and came across as a thoughtful thinker not rushing to judgement on everything and why not give a Black candidate a chance. The second time their was no one better running, actually the first time as well. Sometimes in life we try to pick the better of two, I didn't want Jake Day either but he was unopposed. I Vote my mind and heart and pray about my choices what about you 7:05 think you have all the answers?

@10:58, He was a black man who was running for office and knew damn well he would win because he knew every black in America would register to vote, just to be able to vote a black into office. But it did them no good, because he did not do a damn thing for them. He used them and they fell for it. He played them all for fools. He got what he wanted. A lifetime pension and a house in a white neighborhood.

"I voted for Obama the first time because he seemed educated" Wow, your racism comes through loud and clear. Would you have ever said anything like that about a white candidate? You voted for Obama simply because he was black. Worst reason to vote for anybody, just because of their skin color. You do know the definition of a racist don't you? The black man "seemed educated" so you voted for him...twice. I can't believe you are so naive and are obviously a card carrying racist. I guess you won't vote at all in the next election if there is not a "seemingly educated" black man on the ballot.

10:58 once again you are the fool you are the racist I stated I voted for him twice as I did not like the other choice, but you cannot read, yes I thought he was the only candidate and just because you state someone is educated, black or white I'm not the racist here. And lets get to the bottom line you seem to hate him and not even give a reason, you do not even mention your thoughts on the subject, or your real opinions you just like to belittle someone other than have an original thought in your pea size brain. You take a few words and twist them rather they say what YOU THINK ON THE SUBJECT BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO OPINION AT ALL. Small people call others racists when they don't even know them. Your a narcissist, and a racist.
