It is my understanding that as of 1/1/2018 all residential properties must have 10 year smoke detectors in each bedroom and on each floor.

5:50 AM yea and? Who is paying for it? More of the government forcing you to spend money you dont have on product you dont need.

My old ones work just fine. Even a little burnt toast sets it off. So why do I need to buy a new one? I am capable of changing my own batteries. I dont need the government babysitting me.
