They were offering a discount for gastric by-pass surgery???
Yeah, I'm confused, too.
I think what they meant to say was that they were offering a discount to customers who HAD GBS since they didn't eat much.
But, why would anyone who had GBS go to a buffet, anyway??? And how did they know? did you have to show your scar??

Gastric Bypass Surgery leaves a patient with less space to 'fill' in their stomach, so they feel since they can't eat very much they should get a discount...well that person should NOT be going to an all you can eat eatery...Golden Corral is right to do this...Common Sense.
why would anyone trying to loose weight set foot in this place and eat a bunch of crap processed food.

Most of the people who had it only go to these types of places because their family was going and they didn't want to be left out. The surgeon gives you a card asking restaurants to discount their cost because they can only eat about the amount of a small child.
People have the surgery to get a fix and then continue to eat and balloon back up. Seen it lots of times. It seems it's more the norm now than not. Probably a lot of people coming in were getting the discount and still eating a lot. Good for them.

You were still able to go and bring your group of friends and be with them. You were not able to eat much so the discount was good.We now take our 25 friends somewhere else. We will Miss Golden Corral but it was their call.

By Pass surgery is for the obese, so they
can lose weight. Our daughter in law had
the surgery, Goes there with us when she
comes home, shows her bypass card and is
charged a minimal fee. Nice gesture. Bet
none of the other restaurants in town offer that.
That is where my ex and I met and fell in love. Sure wish I had stayed put because the grass really isn't green on the other side.
Any idiot commenting on this saying negative comments on about the people who received the surgery do not know how this surgery affects you. Having this surgery doNE is alot of work. And no one would over eat after it unless they want to get sick. Liquid dietsfor weeks then surgery and more liquid diets. Like to see any of you handle that.
