Multiple people fall off DC overpass while being chased by police, officials say

WASHINGTON (ABC7) — Three people are in the hospital after at least two of them fell from an overpass while being chased by police in D.C. overnight in connection with an armed robbery, according to authorities.

The D.C. Fire Department says that U.S. Park Police and D.C. Police were chasing a vehicle connected to the robbery when at least two of those fleeing police fell off the high overpass in the area of Interstate 295 and Eastern Ave, NE some time before 12:39 a.m. Sunday.

Fire officials say they rescued the two with rope and baskets. Another person was also found hiding from police in the area. According to authorities, all three were taken to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. One of those who fell was originally listed in critical condition by fire officials.

If the injuries are non life threatening they must have landed on their heads.

I would have to say they jumped off the bridge. I can't imagined them getting out of the car and falling off the bridge.

You're right 9:52. No accounting for such stupidity. Jumped, NOT fell. Wonder who pays for the ambulance for these scum?
