"aww your doubts will change come festival time - too many on this blog are sooo so negative - think positive and dreams come true - . this event could be the disney, for a few days, some dream of or maybe a vacation destination others wish for salisbury - or the little city where good memories are made - Stop being a negative Nellie when you have the choice of being a Manny Memories. Don't waste time spewing & "it'll never happen" or "it will fail" - jump in and help make it a fantastic festival - Hey Salisbury turn those frowns upside down!!!!"

Publishers Notes: Now each and every one of you know I could blast the crap out of this Snowflake but I'll simply leave it up to all of you in comments instead

What does "aww your doubts," mean?

This is a joke, right? What grown-up actually writes this crap? They need to go work for Mr. Rogers or Sesame Street. This falls right in line with their view of what is professional. Kids at work here!

I hope they don't make take a walk around the river during festival time because drinking and walking with nothing to prevent them falling in the river might make a blemish on Salisbury. Or attempting to drive down city streets with bicyclists doing tricks in front of your car and slowing traffic.
Don't miss taking in a nice view of the Wicomico River with all the critters and trash floating by, hopefully no human bodies. Or they can look at how the mediums on Rt 13 have weeds and grass over the 10" limit, how our city buildings look so trashy, why you'd think you were in a slum area, oh yea right you are.

Greensboro is a city of 300,000 people. Salisbury is 1/10th the size. This will be an epic fail and the folk festival may never recover. There are not enough parking, public safety and other community resources to support this event. Guess everyone can stay at the Downtown hotel that hasn't been refurbished in decades. I feel sorry for anyone coming from out of town expecting a good time. They'll leave highly disappointed if they don't get robbed and killed.

But there is no comments. LOL!

SMDH. Clearly this person typed this after taking advantage of the lax Marijuana policies in this liberal state.

His patents should be embarrassed that they raised a son who is a complete idiot and liar.

AMEN 117! There is a big difference between the two towns. Greensboro can accommodate large events like this Folk Festival, whereas Salisbury comes nothing close to being able to support even a small-B-line tour. People really need to get realistic about this event and hope to God it doesn't go through because angry artists have a way of doing property damage when liquored up and pissed off. This is just known info by people who DO work in the music industry! Day and his buddies have no clue about anything when it comes to these kinds of events or else they wouldn't even be there. They were probably looking to score free stuff from the organization supporting this event.

The author of that stupid comment obviously has not a clue about what really happens to make large scale events go down. Let them drown on their idiot island they'll learn soon enough when the lawsuits start rolling in that they are pimping the wrong objectives. Day has much more WRONG with Salisbury than even loopy Jimmy. He's made a mess an even bigger mess as well as alienated himself from the county who he will need assistance from. No brilliant moves in all of these shenanigans. Not one even semi-brilliant one. It's all just a comedy of errors.

I toke and I wouldn't blame weed on the idiocy of his comments. He's obviously checked out by comparing Salisbury to a Disney vacation. You need something more hallucinogenic to make statements like that.

The salisbury festival was such a flop, they stopped it for a bit. Locals clearly don't care about this festival crap, so good luck getting a "national" audience to come to depressed area with inadequate infrastructure. It's going to be mass chaos.

Agree with 2:46. Good music is a big draw but I wouldn't go to Salisbury for any reason. It's a dangerous ghetto. 'Nuff said.

Day needs to focus on infrastructure and jobs. This party time crap is not helping the city as a whole. And to try and have it downtown of all places is ridiculous on so many levels.

Anonymous said...

Who would want to come to a top 5 in violent crime town for a music show?

Anonymous said...

Day has no focus, no experience and ONLY can party. Election time cannot come soon enough!

Consider this...the Festival is held, it's a flop...word is spread about how terrible the experience was to other musical groups/talent...other acts will hear and cancel their Civic Center gigs...a big black mark on Wicomico in addition to city. So....what are the Executive and County Council doing about this stupidity? When are they going to stop allowing the city to RUIN what's left of the county? Day's actions have consequences that affect non-city residents. Stand up for the county elected officials!

What the hell does a music festival have to do with providing people with good paying manufacturing jobs?

Folk music is so popular. Notice all the folk concerts at the civic center and local nightclubs? (Sarcasm) Why do we send 16 people from our city government to NC to attend on our dime? We make more $$ on sports tournaments here via hotel tax. We would do better to have a huge 80's music festival at Pemberton

Are you really THAT slow?? Any and all resources should be put back into rebuildingyour city not some folk festival that will cater to a certain few of day's entourage

Anonymous said...

Thanks Salisbury but I would rather go to The Folklife Festival in DC . I thought it was a joke when I read that the mayor is excited about this festival.

520 is absolutely right. The music business is very small and word gets around quick. If the festival bombs from f-ups on Day's part, the whole area will suffer embarrassment and probably will lose acts. Just ridiculous how this joke of a city government is screwing up left and right. Also notice they go down to do this after losing another company on a long list of companies who have hightailed it out of the area.

When I read this out loud, the paragraph sounded just like that previous mayor of Salisbury would sound-it reeks of a sissy male with the usual lisp/baby talk mannerisms.

Maybe instead of visiting Folk festivals to "learn" how to host one Jake Day should visit some local businesses to learn why they are all leaving.
