The Latest Powerball Winner Is Not Trying To Be Your Facebook Friend Or Give You Money
You’re probably a really nice person. However, that doesn’t mean that the winner of last week’s record Powerball multi-state lottery jackpot wants to be your pal on social media, or wants to give you money. Profiles that impersonate the real winner and promise to give money away to her followers are not real.
I think it's dangerous for names to be announced. Winners should be able to remain anonymous due to their basic safety. They become targets of scammers all over the world.
That woman claimed the $ way too quickly, and obviously did not take the necessary financial steps to ensue her winnings are protected from all the hackers and scam artists that are targeting her.
The winner's name should not be announced without permission of the winner. Then ALL the beggars who think she should share her money are low life people. The winner is only obligated to take care of herself and whatever she wants, it's her money not anyone elses.

People can be gullible at times.

If winners' names are never revealed, who's to say that there are any winners?
Excellent point!!!
The thought of getting free money makes people stupid.
They can announce there is a w8nner and the winner has claimed their prize. Or the winner wishes to remain anonymous. End of story.
