A battle over bare-breasted women at one of Maryland’s most popular vacation spots is heating up as summer hits without a clear answer on whether women are free to be free at the beach.
With the heat approaching, authorities in Ocean City issued a memo this week directing the beach patrol not to confront bare-chested women or ask them to cover up regardless of complaints. The policy is to stand until the Maryland Attorney General’s Office opines on state indecent exposure laws after a local beachgoer declared that if men can go sans tops, then women can, too.
“It’s about equality, it’s about positivity, and it’s against body shaming and the forced sexualization of the female form,” said Chelsea Covington, a self-described “topfreedom” advocate who wrote a legal brief arguing that Maryland law allows women to go bare-chested in public. “It is most certainly about equality under the law.”

But on a bigger note - Its too late. A friend from PA sent me a link to an article stating that OC is a topless beach now. So the rumor is already out there, and it is too late to stop it.
1012 like car crashes, some things are just too grotesque to ignore. Cellulite and flab are two of those things. Some women and men have no business being in public in a tankini much less going full or partial monty. Rumors can produce revenue for citation hand out. OC could actually have earning potential by such a rumor.

What are the age requirements? What age do you think is appropriate? Currently it's high school senior week at the beach.
America need to end it's fanatical obsession with hiding boobies. It's way overdue. Heck, the top UK newspaper has a female naked booby pix every day.
what's the problem? it's good way to teach your children about modesty! which may be an unknown term in your households. I can always use a good laugh since I'm sure I won't be seeing any hollywood starlets out there! cash cow OC here it comes! next I predict reblowbeth will start allowing sex on the beach to keep their crowds up!

Its just inappropriate. Bare ya ta ta s in your back yard or at a titty friendly beach. Then when someone says something or does something inappropriate then there ll be another mess to clean up. Plus like a earlier commenter said there are some folks who come to the beach a hot mess in bathing suits imagine the ones who ll start blinding us w/ ... Eel. All that men do it is for the birds. 11:29......like I said, what other beaches. Ocean City is the ONLY beach in Maryland. With the exception of Assateague, the others are lakes or rivers or creeks, not a good definition of "beach". Assateague, well, it doesn't have the people, or the food/drinks, or the attitude of a beach resort. Again, show me a busy beach other than Ocean City.
And it being the only beach is a good and a bad for the area.
Assateaque would be a great place for the nude beach not OC.
