OCEAN CITY -- Less than a week after a similar incident, a teenager dove head first into the bay at 25th Street on Tuesday afternoon and had to be airlifted to a Baltimore hospital with suspected neck and back trauma.
Around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, the Ocean City Police Department and the Ocean City Fire Department responded to the area of 25th Street and the bay for a reported diving incident.
The investigation revealed as as-yet-unnamed 19-year-old male from West Virginia dove head first into the bay at 25th Street.
Maryland State Police helicopter Trooper 4 responded and transported the victim to a Baltimore area hospital. It is believed the victim suffered a neck or back injury.

That's awful. I think most people dont realize how shallow the bay is. Prayers.
Sad, a uneducated tourist not truly knowing about the dangers of our shallow bay areas. Prayers that the worst outcome doesn't happen to this youngin!
The Darwin awards are getting handed out quicker than ever to millennials.
Maybe signs should be posted around docks stating shallow water. I bet at low tide some areas are only a few feet deep!
