Police said Welby Burgone, a former police academy recruit and civilian employee assigned to the department’s Communcations Section, posted a photo of a crab that appears to be holding a knife with the caption “You mess with crabo You get a stabo” in the thread of a Facebook post that contained racial epithets mocking the fatal stabbing of Richard Collins III. University of Maryland student Sean Urbanski has been charged with Collins' murder and authorities are investigating it as a possible hate crime.
Police said they were made aware about Burgone’s post on Monday and began an investigation that resulted in Burgone’s suspension.

You know what really pisses me off. The fact that this guy joined a Facebook group for whatever reason and now they are calling this a "hate crime." Just like Dylan Roof who the media found a small 6 inch Confederate Battle flag automatically made the battle flag the center of a hate crime. As if that flag went into that church and killed 9 people.

We also have a right to free speech.... not condoning what he said, the guy is obviously an a$$hat but careful how you descend that slippery slope.
If you have a job and are not at the top of the totem pole, make another Facebook account not using your full name and place of employment to post things that might get you in trouble.
Yeah, this was another case of young person stupidity. It happens.
