Amazing photographs of elderly New Yorkers in the 1840s

These are some of the world's first photographs taken in the 1840s featuring people who were all born in the 1700s.

This rare photo collection is thought to capture the OLDEST generation of men and women ever photographed.

These remarkable surviving images show older ladies and gentleman who were all born in the 1700s.

I see they had bad hair days back then too

Early photography took sometimes over a minute of exposure, had to stay perfectly still to not blur the image. Dental care was not what we have today, and a photo was expensive, a once in a lifetime event.
