"What If?" Ron Paul Asks The Two Most Important Words

Ron Paul's thought-provoking speech on the House floor from February 2009 seems as appropriate now as it did then...

“Madam Speaker, I have a few questions for my colleagues.

What if our foreign policy of the past century is deeply flawed and has not served our national security interest?

What if we wake up one day and realize that the terrorist threat is the predictable consequence of our meddling in the affairs of others, and has nothing to do with us being free and prosperous?

What if propping up repressive regimes in the Middle East endangers both the United States and Israel?

What if occupying countries like Iraq and Afghanistan and bombing Pakistan is directly related to the hatred directed toward us?

I don't remember us bombing Pakistan (at all), or occupying Afghanistan before we were attacked on 09/11. Ron Paul is an anti-war legislator, period. He is for no global US interests. He likes to put the cart before the horse with his "reasoning." Arabs have been attacking the US ever since the formation of Israel. Our support of Israel, and their very existence, is the reason for attacks on the US and our overseas interests by Muslims and Arabs. The Arabs (& Muslims) have been our enemy for years. It is in OUR interest to fight them here and abroad, and to support whatever regime that will keep the attacks on us from originating from their soil. What does Ron Paul think about Israel's right to exist, and the US support of that right?

"What if" Ron Paul doesn't want to answer that question?
