Too much haze around medical marijuana in Maryland

Maryland needs to get to the finish line when it comes to providing patients with medical cannabis. It’s just not happening. It seems to us that instead of focusing on delivering cannabis to those Maryland residents who would medically benefit from its use, the state has, instead, set upon a path to build cannabis empires for those fortunate enough, for whatever reason, to get the state's awards of what amounts to winning lottery tickets. This includes dispensers, growers, and distributors.

Never a truer statement! Those prescribed should also be able to grow their own, limited of course, these few growers, processors and distributors will form a "cartel", calling it something else, and set high prices. On the street the average price is $400 an ounce, can't wait to see what these people set the price at. A higher price than the street value by triple I will bet!!

Delaware had the same problem when they started the program. At first you couldn't find a doctor who was willing to recommend it so you could apply for the license. Then finally doctors came on the scene who were willing to do so and you could apply and actually get the license. Then you had a license and still had to get it off the street because there was no where else to get it. Then they finally opened one "compassion center" where you could actually get it and the center was located in Wilmington. Everyone in the state had to go to Wilmington or still get it off the street. Now, in my third year, they are finally going to open a center in Lewes, maybe in the next month or two, and they are going to open a center in Dover this summer.
The price is 400.00 an ounce because they never have any ounce quantities, which would be cheaper, so you have to get 8 eighths at 50.00 per which puts the ounce price at 400.00.
Hopefully once the other two locations open that will change. They are supposed to be non-profit centers but it is hard to see that. I see a lot of product moving out of there at a high price and I'm not a rocket scientist obviously but it sure screams profit to me.

Legal marijuana is a stupid idea for stupid people.

Legal alcohol is a stupid idea for stupid people in my opinion, but that is just my opinion. Causes divorces, destruction and death but yeah, it's legal so it's okay. Stupid choice for stupid people but there sure are a lot of them.
