Google’s freely available software, known as Perspective, is being tested by a range of news organisations, including The New York Times, The Guardian and The Economist, as a way to help simplify the jobs of humans reviewing comments on their stories. “News organisations want to encourage engagement and discussion around their content, but find that sorting through millions of comments to find those that are trolling or abusive takes a lot of money, labour and time,” said Jared Cohen, president of Jigsaw, the Google social incubator that built the tool. “As a result, many sites have shut down comments altogether. But they tell us that isn’t the solution they want.”

Taking out hateful comments written by blog viewers is needed too, IMO. Hate breeds hate and fools try to outdo each other without a clue on the subject of their spewing.
9:36 PM speech is speech, and protected under the constitution... The speech people don't like is the EXACT AND MAIN REASON for it being IN THE CONSTITUTION in the first place... You clowns will even think someone disagreeing with your views as hate speech... This is just another avenue the govt is taking to take away free speech...
It is sad you lazy POS people can't just turn a blind eye or just not read the comments, having your sissy pussified feelings hurt... So instead you rather stifle free speech... One of these days you will realize, and of course it will be to late to fix anything, your speech is my speech, and if your speech goes away or mine goes away, yours do to... My rights are everyone's rights and once your rights are gone so are mine and anyone else's... But you are to damn stupid to see that...
I'm quite confidant that the filter will just be removing conservative viewpoints.
