The Salisbury Misfits has two main goals to achieve for the undetermined future and they are:
1. Make Salisbury a Sanctuary City
2. Set up an online campaign (like HeForShe or Lumos) to raise money and awareness for immigrant rights
If we spread the world and work hard, we have the chance to become a non-profit and really affect change here on the shore. I will be meeting with a group of fellow activists next week to start making set plans for how to achieve these main two goals. Will keep you informed on the progress and ways you can help in your everyday lives. As John Wright said, 'We must not rest.'

What if a majority of Salisbury's citizens DO NOT want to be a Sanctuary City. We support our President and don't want to lose any Federal funds that might come our way. Are these few misfits going to pay and make up the money we lose from the Federal government in funding. This is stupid and I know this is not what a majority of Salisbury citizens like myself that were born here and went to school here and worked here all of my life would want. So Molly why don't you and your band of misfits take a little hike say to California or somewhere else, anywhere else where your misfit opinions will fit in with the locals there. And leave Salisbury to be one of the cities that want to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.

I guess she doesn't realize there are already legal as well as illegal immigrants here now. I would not be at all happy if Salisbury became a sanctuary city, however, I think it would be very hard to get local law enforcement on board to turn a blind eye to the crime by illegals, to become a sanctuary city. And there are immigrant organizations in place currently that do help legal immigrants as well as illegals. I guess she's trying to set up a non-profit to add a job to her resume', and fund raise.

One good place to start is by cleaning up the voter roles.
And you will need to find qualified candidates. But you cannot wait till 3 months before the election, as has been the practice in the past. It needs to be underway now.
Salisbury and Wicomico County residents have been warned repeatedly (particularly by the esteemed owner of this blog) what was afoot and how to prevent it.

Ridiculous! Change the sign to Make Salisbury a law breaking, no rules matter sanctuary city. If I had property in the Salisbury area, I would put it on the market now, as property values will suffer. Fortunately, we had the common sense to sell a few years back, and have never looked back and wondered if we did the right thing! And another dumb move that Salisbury has made is to put low income housing on the river downtown! What are they thinking?

It is pretty evident that the blush is off the rose for those cities and towns styling themselves as sanctuaries. Some are already scrambling to comply with the warning from the President.
When current and future federal dollars are in jeopardy the jelly-filled spines of local politicians will shape up. Money for fahr engines, fahr boats, fahr stations, grant programs for this and that will get suspended or redirected elsewhere. The ripple effect of revenue shortfall won't be pretty but it will be effective.
Talking to a friend at work today who knew someone at his old job that worked for DE state Police. Police would arrest illegals but INS would not pick them up. Does this happen in Salisbury? Hell do we not have INS at Detention Center in Salisbury? What is their job if not to take them away and deport them?
Immigrants are welcome as long as here LEGALY!! And follow the laws of the USA! If here illegally they are already braking the law. Send them back and let them try legal ways to come into the Country.
Salisbury has turned into a shithole, pardon my french. That's what happens when certain types of individuals are allowed to run wild with no consequences. I don't know if the PD has enough manpower to combat this problem or not but I hardly see a police are patrolling in the city. I do see a lot of police cars in their parking lot though.
Instead of the city hiring all these unneeded firemen they need to hire more police officers. If they can find any willing to work here.
Salisbury would have so much potential if they could clean up the streets and get some quality jobs here. It could be a beautiful place to live if people could go back to being nice to each other. But that will probably never happen with the way our situation is currently.
Good people are moving away, other good people don't want to move here. Good companies don't want to locate here. Crime is the number one reason. I don't care what any mayor or council says. They are in denial.
Restore order and this place would improve. Do it soon before it is too late.

There are some people who could stop this area from becoming a sanctuary anything. These same people and others could turn the crime situation around as well.
But what do you think would happen if they made an effort? The police would immediately turn from looking for illegals and other criminals and focus on catching these people. Why you may ask? Because the police would be embarrassed and shown up.
People would be doing THEIR job and making them look bad and proving it could be done after all. They would put every resource they had into catching these 'good ole boys' and making an example of them to prevent any others from following in their footsteps.
And sadly, there are people in this area who would help the police catch these people while before they were huddled in their houses afraid to come outside because of the criminals in their own neighborhood.
They would turn in their neighbors and friends to stop them from cleaning up the streets which they were afraid to walk down at night.
