Flooding At The Salisbury Zoo

Hi everyone, just wanted to let you know that the Zoo is closed and probably will be for the weekend. We have experienced a lot of flooding in the Zoo these past few days and we have relocated our animals for their safety. We will update you all soon. Be safe!

5:33 PM - you're giving me hope after I see these pictures. Was it in an earlier post that ALL the animals are unharmed? I've gone back pretty far. How do you know? Is the panda exhibit ok? I'm also concerned about the peacock that would walk around in that fenced in area. The zoo was in such poor condition before this... I really hope you're righ and all the animals are safe. I'm not sure if we would hear if any of them didnt survive.

Ive seen people swimming in the water there, DONT DO THAT. Nasty.

Having worked there a long time ago, the provisions for something like this are to move them to higher ground. You may see them on the south side of the zoo or in the off-exhibit areas.

Have any of the animals drowned? That's a fear that many of my colleagues have been worried about.

Wish they would or could move the zoo away from the water. For the safety of the animals!
