Obama renews gun control push after 'senseless' Dallas murders

President Obama renewed his push for gun control measures Friday as he condemned the “senseless murders” of five Dallas police officers in a coordinated sniper attack overnight.

The attack, which also injured at least seven, was carried out during an anti-police brutality protest. It was the nation's deadliest day for law enforcement since 9/11.

Obama, speaking at the start of a NATO summit in Poland, decried the “vicious, calculated and despicable attack.”

He vowed “justice will be done” and voiced support for the “extraordinarily difficult job” of America’s law enforcement officers.

“Today is a wrenching reminder of the sacrifices that they make for us,” Obama said.

But before wrapping his remarks, the president once again returned to the issue of gun laws.

“We also know that when people are armed with powerful weapons, unfortunately it makes attacks like these more deadly and more tragic, and in the days ahead we’re going to have to consider those realities as well,” Obama said.

When will people realize that guns don't kill people or anything. People kill people in many ways , that will continue as long as we have people on earth.
People have to pull the trigger , people have to stab with a weapon , people have that responsibility , in my 73 years I've never seen a gun or any weapon
jump up and kill anything with out a person .

It's an insult and affront that instead of trying to heal this country yesterday, he EXPLOITED the tragedy with partisan rhetoric and promote something he is unconstitutionally able to change! To take away our rights is something no president has ever tried to do with such an explicit staging! He is a disgrace to our country and I would vote for his impeachment at any point Congress were to decide to put its foot down! Even if it's not until AFTER his presidency is over!

What is senseless is this idiot trying to convince me that at a time when the world is getting more crazy and unsafe by the day, we will all be safer when the government takes our means to defend ourselves.. He and all his commie cohorts are delusional if they think they can convince thinking (non liberal) people that taking guns from law abiding Americans will fix anything. It defies logic and common sense, but this fool thinks if he says it long and often enough, we will all believe it. He is truly senseless.

MORON - Before invoking gun control, make sure those guns were obtained legally! Then craft the law to strictly address that specific failure of the legality. Then we'll fight any 'infringement' the new law produces against law abiding citizens. Any new law will be useless when the criminals get their guns illegally.

Shall not infringe.

The event was a pretext for gun legislation. There have been about 50 events now which have been used as an excuse to disarm Americans.
They must get out guns. It is imperative and they know it.

Gun confiscation is the #1 priority of this government.
