The National Association for Black Veterans’ Berlin chapter continues to help an ever-increasing number of military members get access to the benefits they’ve earned. Now, the nonprofit hopes to expand its mission.
NABVETS Walk Through the Valley Chapter #0093 Commander James Briddell said the group began in 2008 when a multitude of Vietnam-era military vets from the area took part in a number of local patriotic celebrations.
“We were part of the Memorial Day parade and Veterans Day program,” he said. “We had a heart for seeing to it that other veterans knew about the different benefits that they were entitled to.”
It started with Briddell and the other veterans offering to carpool when heading to the western shore.

Veterans are Veterans and should not be divided between race, religion or ethnicity. Being a vet is like part of a brotherhood and having a "Black veterans" group to me seems very divisive.
All veterans should be looking out for one another and we as Americans should be looking after all of our vets equally.
Amen
Help[ black veterans , what the hell is wrong with this picture. Black veterans don't deserve more help than any other veteran.
I agree fully with 1:40. I'm a Vietnam vet.
The military was one of the few places where it didn't seem to matter much what color somebody was.
Besides that, this organization seems to be duplicating what the DAV does.
I agree, help all veterans!
Follow the money .
Why are there black lodges and white lodges?
VFW
Both VFW and American legion have segregated lodges here in salisbury
There are some veterans, typically black, who don't realize they are entitled to benefits and so don't seek any help. It's all about educating those who may not know there is help out there. But I agree that focus should be seeking out all vets, not a particular race or religion.
A National Association of White Veterans would immediately be labeled RACIST!!!
You people seem to overlook things often.
BLM and others don't.
You don't believe it, axe any liberal or know idiot.
