GOP’s Trump Says U.S. Should Consider Profiling Muslims

WASHINGTON (AP) — Donald Trump suggested Sunday that the United States should “seriously” consider profiling Muslims inside the country as a terrorism-fighting tool, the latest example of the Republican presidential nominee-in-waiting increasingly backing positions that could single out a group based on their religion.

“We really have to look at profiling,” Trump said in an interview broadcast Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation.” `’It’s not the worst thing to do.”

The presumptive Republican presidential nominee added that he “hate(s) the concept of profiling, but we have to use common sense.”

The statements are consistent with Trump’s other, long-expressed views on how to stop terrorism in the United States, including a temporary ban on foreign Muslims from entering the country until the U.S. can figure out “what is going on.”

Profiling violates civil rights! Good thing is that these people aren't u.s. citizens! So they have no rights! But I can see obama giving civil rights guaranteed to American citizens to anyone and everyone in the world!

Profiling happens every day here in the USA. Anyone frequent a fast food or gas and go? Of course you do, when you go to place an order or request to pay for gas you "look" at the person first. If the "look" doesn't fancy your style, you "look" for the next person. If no one makes your comfortable you leave.

Anyone watch TV? Of course you do. Doesn't matter politico affiliation, you "look" and "listen" then make your determination whether you stay or not. Rating are derived from our "looks" and how viewers "listen" so you know the TV exec's are damn sure what and who they place on TV...not to mention the message.

Message here is that profiling is actually a common sense usage of human intuition/intelligence and it is NOT the worst thing.

Fear is the worst thing ever and during the last 15 years, fear of what ifs has made it the worst thing ever!!! Lives, $$$ spent on protection.....going to be a great summer of entertainment with the conventions!!!!

Makes absolute perfect sense! But this is going to cause another sh*Tstorm for Trump, unfortunately. However, it will pass in a week or 2 and everyone will eventually say that he is right. I do not know why his common sense answers or statements are always 'controversial'? The bottom line to everything he states is that he wants the AMERICAN people protected. Why is that such a problem or issue? I really don't get it...

Go for it as a stopgap measure until we get a grip on how badly screwed up our immigration screening practices really are, and we have a working plan to fix them.
It's not a pretty thing, but it's necessary to protect everyone.

2:40 Couldn't agree with you more. I didn't like him at first but he is making sense now. Screw civil rights if you come into this country you need to be prepared to be PROFILED! and not given a lollipop and sent along your way.

Agree totally with Trump and it's true we all profile each and every day. I do it and I'll keep doing it. If I don't like the way you look, I'm not going near you, simple as that.

Profiling is needed. if a report comes over a police radio that a bank was robbed at gunpoint and the suspect is a number one male(black male) and he sees a white man walking should he stop him and question him. Of course not that would be a waste of time and stupid. He will be profiling for a black male. And the same for a white suspect, or an Asian suspect. That is just good common sense.
