I used to go along the roadways with my bicycle and collect soda bottles back in the early seventies. I used the money to by more pop, or a candy bar, or the latest 45 record. I like the grass roots, Bad finger, or Three Dog Night.
Also purchased the latest Archie or Marvel comic book.
Definitely better times than today!!!!! I miss it a lot.
Wish I could go back. Wasn't perfect, but a hell of a lot better than today!!!

I would go to Gino's and Topp's play pinball machines in lobby. Those were the day. I used to help ladies put groceries in their cars for tips you had fun as a kid in those days and you worked for a few bucks

I swiped them from garages in Newtown and cashed them in at Hutch's Market on N. Division St. Until one smart old widow on Elizabeth St put marbles in her empties and tipped off Hutch who busted me and wouldn't pay me again. It takes a village...

Those were the days. A kid could get a real stash in addition to allowances. (See back then, we had to do chores to get our allowances. Parents didn't just give us stuff just because we were breathing like now.) Those were great days. Miss them. Will we see them resurrect? Think Trump's our best chance at those days being revisited.

I remember finding them in ditches and I would cash them in even if they had dirt inside of them. I remember reaching through the fence of gas stations, etc. that stored them outside and if I could reach them I would cash them in.

My friend and I would go on long bike trips collecting bottles from the side of the road and storing them in our bike's saddle bags. My dad would redeem the beer bottles for us. Generally we used the money to support our playing baseball.
