Maryland State Police Arrest Somerset Co. Man For Child Pornography

(Princess Anne, MD) Maryland State Police investigators from the Maryland Internet Crimes Section, Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, arrested a Somerset County man yesterday on child pornography related charges.

The suspect is identified as Bryan Evans, 34, of the 11000 block of Somerset Avenue, Princess Anne, MD. Evans was arrested without incident and charged with six counts of possession of child pornography and other related charges.

Earlier this year, investigators with the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force developed information about the potential distribution of child pornography over the Internet. As a result of the subsequent investigation, Evans was identified as the suspect and a search warrant was served at Evans’ residence shortly after 9:00 a.m. yesterday morning, by Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit investigators, state troopers from the Princess Anne Barrack, agents from Homeland Security Investigations, Somerset County Narcotics Task Force deputies from the Worcester County Sheriff’s Department and officers from the Princess Anne Police Department.

Service of the search warrant resulted in the recovery of various digital media storage devices. Evidence will be submitted to the Maryland State Police Digital Forensics Lab for analysis. Evan was transported to the Somerset County District Court Commissioner’s Office for processing and a hearing before a District Court commissioner. Evans was held on a $300,000 bond.

The Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is comprised of police agencies from around the state. Its primary mission is to protect children from computer-facilitated sexual exploitation. The Task Force works cooperatively with law enforcement agencies and prosecutors to provide resources to combat these crimes. Additionally, the Task Force provides community awareness campaigns helping to prevent the spread of these crimes through education.
