Ex-DA says meds could have affected O.J. glove try-on

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Prosecutors in O.J. Simpson’s 1994 murder trial didn’t know that he had been taking arthritis medication before trying on the famous ill-fitting bloody glove, former Los Angeles County District Attorney Gil Garcetti said Thursday.

Garcetti, who led the prosecutor’s office during the trial, told ABC’s “Good Morning America” that he learned about the medication from watching the new ESPN documentary: “O.J.: Made in America.”

“What we didn’t know until I saw it on this film was that O.J. Simpson was taking arthritic medication for his hands and he was told, ‘If you stop taking this arthritic medication, your hands will swell. Your joints will stiffen,'” Garcetti said. “My God.”

Simpson was acquitted of murder charges for the death of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman. A key moment came when prosecutors had Simpson try on a bloody glove found at his house and it appeared to be too small.

Duh! Leather shrinks when it gets wet, whether by water or blood. So if the meds was a factor, of course they wouldn't fit.

I woke up this morning thinking about just this issue, even before reading this post.

Not only does leather sweat, but rubber, as in rubber gloves, causes friction. The friction from the rubber gloves makes anything extremely difficult to put on. Not to mention that OJ did a good job of extending and spreading his fingers to make it look like he couldn't put on the gloves. I can't believe the idiots on the jury as well as the judge couldn't pick up on that. It was so horrible that OJ didn't even get a nomination for an emmy award on that act.

No! The glove didn't fit because it had been blood soaked & dried out, shrinking in the process. Secondly, you CANNOT slide any size glove over a rubber glove!

Lol I agree.

The glove thing was a farce. Chances are that there was a sizing tag inside the glove. If the prosecution had obtained a new pair of the same make and size, the fit would have been perfect.

The simple reason the gloves did not fit was he put them on over surgical gloves anyone knows that don't work it was all orchestrated to fail, they had tried it before. Anyone in the medical field knows better than that fit.

YES BUT try putting on leather gloves with surgical gloves on ,his lawyer KNEW it wouldnt fit and the Idiot marsha clark and crew should have lost there law lic for that idiotic mistake.

Nobody died.
The entire trial was a charade to distract the public from Bill Clinton's war crimes.
