ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ) — Maryland voters stand by their man. Governor Hogan’s approval rating is the highest for a governor since 1998. That’s according to The Washington Post and University of Maryland poll released Wednesday.
Nearly two-thirds of Marylander polled — 66 percent — approve of the job he’s doing.
Political reporter Pat Warren asked voters what they think of that.
It may be sour grapes, but some Democrats don’t want to believe it.
Larry Hogan, the most popular governor since 1998?
“I’ll be glad when he’s done, when he puts in a four-year stint and he’s done,” said Democrat Mel Eisenstein.
Maybe, maybe not.
“I’m a registered Democrat. I like the Republican governor,” said Democrat Heather Berlett.
“[Tuesday] night, I broke through four boards, which were labeled ‘Partisan Gridlock,'” Hogan laughed.

Considering the governor's predecessors and what they did to the state and its citizens...if we can only get rid of the Mikes.....and a handful of ornery dumbocrats!
Mel Eisenstein must be wearing liberal blinders if he can't distinguish positive governance from Hogan vs. the horrible terms of Martin. The guy couldn't even get out of single digits in the presidential race let alone the terrible performance as Governor of Maryland. Mel face it...Larry is fixing things. Admit it man.
If Hogan keeps up the good work, he'll not only get another 4 years as Governor, but any job in public office that he may seek in the future. He's the real deal!
I'm a registered Democrat, too, and I find nothing to complain about. So far, his performance has been straightforward, responsible and fiscally sound. I can only think that those who disagree have some sort of political affiliation disorder.
I think he is one of the best governors we have had so far. I think he is really trying to turn this state around, but has an uphill fight with the democratically controlled house and senate. We are still loosing residents because of this.
Thank you Gov Hogan for all you have done, while fighting health issues. You're still in my prayers and thanking you in advance for all you will be doing in the future.
